ABOUT THE FILM

Like a ghost wandering through bookstacks and darkrooms, View explores the black magic of fin-de-siècle technology and materials. For visual culture, 1892 marks the appearance of picture postcards and cinema—an eruption of images. It was also a significant year in Milwaukee history.

Photographed and filmed at Atwater Park in Shorewood, Wisconsin. Optical printing, animation, and hand-processing done by the filmmaker as an MFA student in the Peck School of the Arts, Department of Film, University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee.
